Into the Game

Growing technologies, culture acceptance to new methods of living our life with our AI brethren, has changed the game. From growing populous who are on a console to hardcore PC gamers to Smart phone casuals, not so casuals if you count the tournaments exclusively for smartphones...looking at you Pub G, things are not how they used to be. Being a gamer doesn't conjure up an image of a lazy slouching guy wasting away time, it is a crunchy source of fun, money and entertainment.

People have made it big with streaming games to reaction on games, to reaction on people streaming games, to the infinite number of videos, Gifs, memes and any related content to the Gigantic empire that gaming has exploded into. The industry earns more money than movies, provides employment to thousands and thousands of people and trust me being a part of the creative process of a game can never not be a cool thing, even being involved with the producing company has become "cool"now. Its not all hunky dory, as with any profit hungry corporate, you do get to hear a lot about the exploitative nature of things, with employees being underpaid to squeezing a cash cow dry.

A gamer like me, who just wants to enjoy a good game at the end of the day, there is a lot more to things than meets the eye, the brilliant, international, abusive, friendly community which is as active as a religious cult. Just start a conversation with the folks that the gaming server has paired you with, who knows you might be in for an international handshake.
